NOTES

Part of a series of training days aimed at two groups of people:
1/ newcomers to bush orienteering
2/ those wanting to step up from Moderate to Hard bush courses

There will be a structured series of coaching and training activities to develop skills and confidence for bush orienteering. Each training day proceeds a club event so you’ll be able to put your improved skills to test.

Note there is no cost for these events but please contact us (info@awoc.org.au) so we know how many people to expect.

Session 3

Session 3 will be located at 9 Mile Reserve (Knowles Hill), Table Top.  This compact area provides a mix of rock and contour features.  Meet in the open area at the top of the hill on Georgory Road.

Skills coaching will build on the basics learnt in previous sessions – basic navigation and feature identification.  We’ll also build on our understanding of contours and rock features and using other linear features such as watercourses and earth walls for navigation.  More advanced coaching focusing on contours and rock is available for those looking to move up to Hard courses.
