If you feel that you want to have a say in the running of the club, ordinary members are entitled and welcome to come along to the AWOC Committee meetings. These take place on the second Tuesday of each month from 8pm at various venues. Feel free to come along and have your input into the running of our club.
As you would appreciate, running a club and activities takes a lot of voluntary effort. We are always aftervolunteers to assist with committee activities, course design, preparation and setting up and administrative tasks. The work can be good fun and a great learning experience. There will always be experienced members to turn to for advice and volunteers will be trained for the various roles. Let the club know if you are able to help and in what particular activities you are interested.
Dinner Plain O Course
A permanent orienteering course has been set around Dinner Plain Village. Details can be obtained from the information hut at the entrance to the village.
Bells Reserve Permanent Course
We've set up a new permanent course for anyone to use at anytime, but particularly school and community groups. Bells Reserve is just a few kilometres north of Thurgoona and the reserve is used for feeding and holding stock travelling the stock route. It's flat, fairly open and surprisingly challenging to navigate.
First Aid Training
In an effort to encourage to have more members with First Aid training the club is offering a grant of $100 to any member who wishes to obtain or update a First Aid certificate. Contact Rick if you are interested.
New Club Competition Clothing
A new AWOC cycling top and bib shorts are available. If you would like to purchase the new uniform please contact Fabrizio. Full details are here.
The club has now taken possession of a defibrillator, which must be taken to all events, as it could be a lifesaver in an emergency. The equipment is very simple to use. You take it from the container, press a button to turn it on and it voice prompts you on what steps to follow.
Course Setters Required
The club is seeking course setters for all the Albury events in the upcoming Interclub competition. Mentoring and coaching are available if you are interested, but lack the necessary experience. See the events calendar on the Events page for details. Please contact Rick at email@example.com if you can assist.
