NOTES

Part of a series of training days aimed at two groups of people:
1/ newcomers to bush orienteering
2/ those wanting to step up from Moderate to Hard bush courses

There will be a structured series of coaching and training activities to develop skills and confidence for bush orienteering. Each training day proceeds a club event so you’ll be able to put your improved skills to test.

Note there is no cost for these events but please contact us (info@awoc.org.au) so we know how many people to expect.

Session 4

Session 4 is located in Beechworth Gorge on complex terrain featuring lots of rock and a variety of vegetation.  Meet at the Beechworth Powder Magazine carpark.

Skills coaching will continue building upon previous sessions, introducing more features such as bare rock and different vegetation.  More advanced coaching for those moving to Hard courses will focus on techniques for running in complex terrain, especially simplifying the map ti filter out the small detail so you can focus on the main features, and different types of vegetation.
